Hello everyone!

So this month, and the next few months, is shaadi or wedding season! Hugely in the south asia-pakistan-indian communities!
So this long weekend for memorial day, there are straight up 3-4 weddings going on right here ย in the area i live in, its kind of insane. The community is split between going to so many events, its all exciting and tiring!

My family is invited to one of the weddings, and earlier this week was the Mahnja/Mayoon rasam for the groom. This ceremony usually is low key, happens at home of the bride or groom, and it is like a pre-party sort of thing. You dress up in traditional clothes, bright colors usually, orange pink yellows especially! And get together and play songs on the dhool (drums) and eat and socialize and its like to get hyped and ready for the wedding. Its all a cultural thing, no real religious significance, but its a fun thing to kick off your events.
So for this event, i wore a yellow dress. The outfit is different than anything i own, because the style is so unique. It is a high collar shirt and the shirt sort of opens out wide in the front, i like it because it is so different. The collar and sleeves have matching work on it that bring out the look for the outfit. I figured this would be perfect for an event like this!

So that was a fun event, then last night was the mehndi ceremony. Mehndi usually means the henna tattoo ceremony, and this is the most fun event of the wedding events we have! It involves lots of dancing and partying basically! And there are little ceremonys that the bride and groom do from their families, like eating sweets and having a ย leaf on their hands which people put mehndi/henna onto. Again this was fun, watching and joining in on the fun of dancing. The only thing i HATE about our weddings is the delay in time, we literally had dinner at 11:30 pm last night -_- i Hate eating that late but sigh, what can u do in situations like this? Lol.

Anyways, for this event i wore a blue/green outfit with work on the chest and sleeve and bottom of the shirt. I’m not too crazy about this outfit, but I did get a lot of compliments on it last night, so i’ll take that ๐Ÿ˜‰

The lighting at the event was pretty terrible so ofc i didnt get too many good pictures. Dont you just HATE when that happens?! Ugh. Oh well, we’ll make do with what we have.

IMG_2688And here’s the best full length picture i can provide. Omg the shoes i’m wearing, i posted in my earlier post discussing graduation outfit (check it out below) So these were the first time i wore them, and for most people i’m sure its not a lot of heel, but its about 2 & 1/2-3 inches, and for me that is ย A LOT. I don’t wear heels often and since this was first time i was wearing them, they were a bit painful, not the shoe its self but the heels. My feet were feeling sore by end of night, ugh. But thankfully all okay now, and i do totally love these shoes, cant wait to wear em again!

So that was my kickoff to the weekend. I hope you guys enjoyed the pictures and post!
