Ramadan Fashion Mini Series: Week 1

Hello all!

As you know (if you follow me on instagram) last week, i announced my first ever blogger collaboration with The Z Space. She and I are Muslims and are observing the month of Ramadan for the next 4 weeks.

During this time, we do not eat from sunrise to sunset, and focus on strengthening our faith & performing religious acts.

Likewise, during this month there are numerous ‘iftar’ (the time we break our fasts to eat) parties, get togethers, and a lot of going to the masjid for iftar.

We decided what better way to do a collaboration, then to do one surrounding fashion during this time of the year!

The way this collaboration will work is:

  • Each week for this month, on Wednesdays, The Z Space & I, will alternate doing blog posts, where we will showcase a few Ramadan friendly fashions.
  • Each post will include outfit posts by BOTH of us, we will discuss the outfits & details like normal OOTD/OOTN posts.
  • I am kicking this off this week, and next week it will be her turn!

So please dont forget to follow our blogs & instagram pages along, to stay up to date on new posts and fashions!

Let’s begin!

So in this past first weekend of Ramadan, i’ve already been to 3 iftar parties, everyday this past weekend. Friday night we hosted one at my own house, and on Saturday we went to the masjid, Sunday we were invited to an iftar at a restaurant.

Since it’s the first week, i had plenty of options for what to wear to these events! But i also didnt want to wear super fancy things, since it is just the beginning and we have more weekends to go.

Look 1: I wore this outfit on Saturday night to the masjid. I had to pair my own tights and dupatta with it since the outfit came as only a shirt. It is a new shirt, so this was my first time wearing this and its a super comfy and simple-ish suit, perfect for Ramadan.FullSizeRender (5)I paired white low heels with this, and my ombre coach clutch to finish off the outfit.IMG_2826 IMG_2829The shirt has a nice print design to it, and i love the multi colors in it. It made it easier for me to wear any color dupatta with it really, so i chose a navy blue dupatta to go along with it and it worked perfectly!

Look 2: This second outfit, i wore on Sunday night for iftar. We were actually invited to an iftar hosted by 2 families at a restaurant, rather than their homes. So i decided to keep it a bit more casual, and chose another shirt-type suit. This came as a shirt again, and i paired it with my own black tights. It’s so simple looking and easy to pair with accessories, so i love it!

IMG_2907 IMG_2911I wore it with my favorite-newish-black heels, a black clutch (courtesy of my mom) and black and white fake pearl bracelets as jewelry. I kept the color combos the same throughout and thought it looked nice put together.IMG_2914 IMG_2916

Look 1:This Saturday I was invited to an iftaar at a family friends house and i chose to wear a traditional Pakistani outfit.

I love the dress because its length is longer then some of the other dresses I have which makes it look more elegant! The details on the neckline and sleeves add a bit of fun to this outfit!

Look 2: When going out to run errands for the day, this is the perfect Ramdan friendly outfit!

The dress is flared from the bottom and has a high neckline which helps make it modest. Some days are still chilly enough for a jacket here in Rochester, so I added this denim jacket on top! It kept me warm and added a finishing touch to this outfit!
