Origins Bestsellers Review!

Hiya!

I’ve had my fair share of skin issues, as i’m sure many women do, I like to occasionally try out things that i hope will work for my skin!

Recently, i got to the VIB status at Sephora (#makeupaddiction), so i got some benefits like free shipping and 10% off my first order, so i decided to buy some stuff off their website! I saw this Origins Bestsellers, for only $45 when it originally costs $90+ so i knew i had to get my hands on this.

So i decided to try out all of these products for awhile, all at different days/times and intervals to see how they work on me!IMG_4329.jpg

  1. The first one of these products i tried was the Checks & Balances Frothy Face Wash! All of the items in this gift set, come in the smaller / travel size, but to be honest, they will last forever! Because you only need a small amount to get the job done.I squeezed a small amount of this onto my finger and lathered it on my face. Unlike the clean and clear face washes i typically use, which are super liquid based, this one is thick. And it doesn’t easily spread on your face. You need to add some water to it to make it move easily on your skin, but it feels like no other face wash i’ve ever used. It’s much thicker and tougher and sits on your skin almost like a mask as you rub it in.
Nothing bad about it at all, just very different than what i’m used to. After spreading it across my face, i washed it off as normal and towel pat dried my face. Typically after using face washes, my face feels super dry, but surprisingly it did not after this use! I loved that!
VERDICT: My skin felt smoother, but not tight or dry whatsoever! Love this! Will definitely use maybe 1-2x a week, since it is a deeper clean.
  2. The next thing i tried was the By All Greens Foaming Deep Cleansing Mask. So this is almost like a two in one cleanser and clay mask. First, you apply it evenly on your face without blending in and making sure your face is not wet from before. After few minutes it begins to foam and then you wet your fingers and massage it into the skin, before washing off. It has a cooling feeling to it and nothing sticky or gross about it!
Immediately after washing my face from this, i noticed the bottom portions of my cheeks were turning really red, and i panicked because i did NOT want this to cause irritations or breakouts to my skin (my biggest fear in using new skincare products), so i stood in front of the mirror for awhile and watched my face, and eventually the redness went away.
VERDICT:I’m thinking it was just an immediate reaction but thankfully it didn’t last. My skin definitely felt refreshed and smooth, and again the best part – not dry at all. Love it!
  3. After that, i decided to give the Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask a go, and if you have been following me for awhile, you know how pores are my biggest skincare issue!
I’ve used some charcoal products before but never religiously, so i was excited to try this! I first put a damp towel on my face to ‘open up’ the pores and then applied an even layer of the product to my face, i left it on for maybe 5 or so minutes – and in that time i could feel it harden completely on my face especially around the mouth and cheeks area.
Then i washed it off with warm water and it was very easy to wash off! After washing, i’m seeing a trend in the origins products….they leave your skin extremely soft afterwards. I didn’t have any irritation at all! Only thing about this product is i felt my skin a bit drier than the other two. Like i could see some dryness on the nose and cheeks area so moisturizing is obviously necessary!
VERDICT:Other than that, i like this! I’m going to try to use it every once in awhile because i can definitely feel the impurities of my skin lifted. Now if it actually closes/reduces pore size….that i can’t say for sure!
  4. The next two pod-like items in the gift set are lotions/moisturizers. To be honest – i have not used the one on the right (darker) bottle one at all yet. Its for night time use and is much thicker than the GinZig one on the left (orange bottle)
The GinZig one i have mixed in on daily use with my Aveeno daily moisturizer. It is quite thin fluid like feeling and has a bit of a sparkle to it almost which i don’t really want on my whole face/skin on a daily.
The night time one is much thicker feeling and meant to be applied before bed on the daily. I’m typically not one to use moisturizers at night that much…hence why i haven’t touched this yet.

That’s all folks! I love the pricing/discount i got on this face set. Since using all of the first 3 mentioned products – i’ve used the charcoal mask and the green tea one multiple times since. I think those two are my new favorites from this set.

Let me know if you’ve ever used Origins products and what you like best! Would love to hear your thoughts.

Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to stay up to date on the blog.

Until next time, XOXO

I looooove the Gin Zing moisturizer! It’s great at night too (for me personally) cuz it’s not too heavy and keeps my skin in check, and in the day my skin feels so soft and nice.
